This engine was built by the North London Railway at their workshops in Bow, Bow is part of East London. It is a 0-6-0T, UIC classification C nt, so three axles (six driving wheels), with side water tanks. The locomotive has two outside cylinders and Stephensons valve gear inside between the frames. It weighs 46.23 tonnes. The class is a North London Railway class 75, thirty were built between 1879 and 1905 for shunting at the London docks and hauling goods trains short distances. The NLR main line was only 22km long!. The North London Railway number was 116, the NLR became part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway in 1923 and it became 7505 then in 1934 the LMSR changed the number to 27505, finally when the LMSR became part of British Railways the number was changed again to 58850. This engine was built in 1880 and is the only NLR class 75 locomotive left. It is not in working order and will need a complete new boiler
